Michael White is a licensed school psychologist (retired) who consults with school systems throughout the country on issues relating to standards-based instruction, assessment, and teacher support.. A strong advocate of “assessment as instruction,” he has authored seven books and numerous articles on standards, assessment, teacher induction, and effective schools. His web-based teacher resource, Learning Connection Online, was the National Staff Development Council’s “Technology of the Year” award winner. He served three years as the assessment expert on Ohio’s Department of Education’s Academic Recovery Commission, where he helped low-performing schools.
His books and presentations are the result of his work with public, parochial, and charter schools throughout the country and are grounded in forty years of teaching and coaching experience.
