Richard Sugg

I am the author of 13 books, including Ride Your Horse Through the Chocolate Sauce!, The Smoke of the Soul, and Fairies: A Dangerous History. My best-selling book Mummies, Cannibals and Vampires has been described by historian Greg Jenner as 'a fascinating, shocking, and thrilling study of where medicine, culture, and the macabre were once interwoven'. This book is currently being pitched for television by Barry Krost Media in LA.

My work has appeared in The Guardian, BBC History, Der Spiegel and The New Yorker. In 2011 Tony Robinson and I made corpse medicines (with free-range pig) for a Channel 4 documentary. I have previously lectured in English and History at the universities of Cardiff and Durham.
