Randy Birken is a board certified physician, Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, and published author.
Born in 1950, he attended college in New York and medical school in Boston before moving to Houston where he completed his postgraduate physician training.
With a penchant for literature and writing, Dr. Birken received a Master's degree in liberal arts and literature in 2000 and began writing as well as teaching college composition and rhetoric while maintaining medical practices in The Woodlands, Texas and Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
An avid cyclist, skier, hiker, and fitness enthusiast, Dr. Birken and his wife, Liz, share seven children and three granddaughters.
