I am the Chief Primatologist (and sole employee) of the long-running, illustrated autobiographical East Village Inky zine and the author of ten books, including No Touch Monkey! And Other Travel Lessons Learned Too Late; Creative, Not Famous: The Small Potato Manifesto; and, most recently, Panther City: Tales of a Gen X Grade 3 Class Project Run Amok.
As co-founder of Theater of the Apes, I act, write plays, perform improvised bluegrass musicals, and guerilla marketeer til my telomeres fall off the tips of my DNA strands.
I count Lynda Barry, George Saunders, Etgar Keret, Kurt Vonnegut, and Joann Sfar among my favorite authors.
I live in bookstore-rich New York City with my husband, playwright Greg Kotis, and the Mailroom Böyz, Phantomat and Pieter Bruegel the Elder.
My website and I share a name.
