Ruth has written five award-winning children's books, "Erika's Story," "Mississippi Morning," "Eli Remembers," "Always With You," and her latest book, "Next Year - Hope in the Dust."
These are picture books, illustrated by artists who are able to read between the lines and create rich visual layers. These stories are based on the real life experiences of children who were born into difficult times, endured hardships, and came through with courage and hope.
Her school presentations are widely acclaimed as being engaging and instructive. When, after reading "Mississippi Morning" to middle school and high school students sitting on bleachers at 9:30 in the morning, three young men came up, stood around her, and then lifted her off the ground, saying, "That was a real good story," she knew for sure she had hit the heart of her reader.
Ruth has also authored a book on spirituality for women "Woman Meets Jesus: How Jesus Encourages, Empowers, and Equips Women on Their Personal Journey of Faith."
As an author, Ruth travels, talking with students and teachers about her books and the writing process. She lives in Miami, Florida with her husband Vern.
