Peter Merriman

Peter Merriman is a Professor of Geography at Aberystwyth University in Wales, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. His research predominantly lies in the fields of human geography and mobility studies, but is influenced by a broad range of work in the social sciences and humanities, particularly post-structuralist theory. His core research interests are in the study of mobility and movement, and theoretical approaches to space and spatiality. He has also researched and written about theories of nationalism and national identity; infrastructure; and 20th Century British transport history. He is General Editor of Bloomsbury's forthcoming 6-volume 'A Cultural History of Transport and Mobility', and editor of the 'Routledge Research in Culture, Space and Identity' book series.
