A.W. Hill is the author of a trio of “New Age noir” novels featuring a shamanic P.I. named Stephan Raszer, a character INSPECTOR REBUS author Ian Rankin called “a James Bond for the spiritually uncertain 21st century.” The first of these was acquired for film development by Paramount Pictures and Alphaville, and books two and three were edited by veteran genre hand Michele Slung and published, respectively, by Carroll & Graf and Counterpoint Press. NOWHERE-LAND, the third in the series, received a glowing review from Raymond Chandler scholar, Judith Freeman. http://www.laweekly.com/arts/old- world-meets-new-age-in-thriller-nowhere-land-2160245
JUDAS GOAT: A Fable, a rock ’n’ roll odyssey told in the voice of ‘C.K. Robin,’ was self-published for Amazon’s Kindle. With his teenaged son, Nathanael, Hill co-wrote THE SWITCH, a YA novel in the speculative fiction vein about five young friends lost in the multiverse and trying to find their way home. THE SWITCH was published by Curiosity Quills Press in August 2017.
MINISTRY: Hill's most recent novel (published 9/22) is the story of Isobel Lemont, orphaned at 13 and coming of age in a world ravaged by environmental catastrophe and taken over by a malign Artificial Intelligence that seeks to rid the planet of her kind. Tasked with a "ministry" by her father, the alliances she forms among the outcast and the wisdom she obtains from other renegades and heretics enables her to become the prophet of a new way of thinking she calls simply "the knowledge."
Hill is also a former Disney executive, a Grammy-winning producer, a teacher of film composers, and as Andy Hill, author of SCORING THE SCREEN: The Secret Language Of Film Music (Hal Leonard 2017). He is a frequent collaborator with laser physicist Dr. Mani L. Bhaumik on books of popular science. After three years of work in Valencia, Spain and Antwerp, Belgium, he and his family relocated to Sofia, Bulgaria, where he directs the Film Scoring Academy of Europe.
