Jerry Gao

Jerry Zeyu Gao was born in Fujian, China in 1960, and came to USA for his graduate study in 1986. In 1995, Dr. Gao graduated with Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in The University of Texas at Arlington. Now he is a tenured full professor at the Department of Computer Engineering in San Jose State University. Before he joined San Jose State University in 1998, he had over 10 years of software engineering and management experience in software development, testing, and Internet applications.

His current research interests include component-based software engineering, testing and quality assurance for component-based software, test automation, wireless computing and mobile commerce. He has published many papers in IEEE/ACM journals and International conferences. Until now, he co-authored three published technical books, and many published referred technical papers in IEEE/ACM journals, magazines, and international conferences and workshops.

His first technical book, titled as Object-Oriented Software Testing, is published by IEEE Computer Society Press and co-edited with Dr. Dave Kung and Dr. Pei Hsia. His second book, titled as Testing and Quality Assurance of Component-Based Software, is published by Artech House Publishing in 2003. This book is listed as one of the Bestsellers by its publisher in 2004 and 2005. His third book, titled as Engineering of Wireless-Based Software Systems, is published by Artech House by Publishing in 2006. In addition, he has published numerous book chapters, and edited a number of special issues for archived journals, and served as editorial board members for several journals.

Recently, he is very active in organizing several international conferences and workshops as co-chairs and co-program chairs, such as SEKE2006-2010, ICYCS2005, TQACBS2005-2006, WMCS2005-2010, EMOBS07-08, TEST'07, and EECC2006. Meanwhile,

he also provided his technical consultant services and training for a number of telecommunication and international IT companies.
