M. C. Finotti

M.C. Finotti is a journalist and former teacher. The Treasure of Amelia Island, published by Pineapple Press, is her first middle grade novel. It was recently chosen as an Accelerated Reader book nationwide and won an award for Best Children's Book 2008/2009 given by the Florida Historical Society. Finotti also co-authored two editions of a guidebook, The Insiders' Guide to Jacksonville, published by Globe-Pequot Press and she conceived and wrote a weekly wedding column for the Florida Times-Union called "I do, I do" for six years. Finotti lives in Atlantic Beach, Florida with her husband, children and pup Paddington. She enjoys visiting elementary schools and conducting writing programs with the students there.

M.C. Finotti's second book of Florida Historic fiction is also available on Amazon, called "Paintbrushes and Arrows." It takes place in St. Augustine in 1875 when the Federal government brought 72 Native Americans from the Oklahoma Territory to the fort for "re-education." One of them was a 9-year old girl, a Comanche named Ahkah. The story is told, in part, from her point of view.
