Mariette Nowak

Mariette Nowak's book, Birdscaping in the Midwest, has been favorably reviewed by naturalist Randy Hoffman, ecologist Jim Steffen, ornithologist Stephen Kress, botanist Gerould Wilhelm and many others.

Mariette was the Director of the Wehr Nature Center in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin for 18 years. An avid birder, she is a member of the Lakeland Audubon Society and former board members of the Wisconsin Society of Ornithology. She is also active in the Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes organization and is President and founder of the Wild Ones Kettle Moraine Chapter. In addition, Mariette serves on her county's Park Committee.

Mariette and her husband have created a bird sanctuary on their 2-acre property in Southeastern Wisconsin and enjoy hiking and birding in natural areas and parks..
