I was born in Chicago, but grew up in London, Ontario, then Connecticut and Michigan. My granddad was a renowned journalist for The Detroit News. My father aspired to writing the great American Novel. When he proposed to my mother he said, "How would you like to be married to a writer and live on a boat?" That made for an adventurous childhood. We moved on the average of once a year, like army brats. But I finally found home in Taos, New Mexico, where three cultures enrich each other and I meet many artists and writers like myself. Over the years I have published four books, was a staff writer for The Taos News for five years, have published in a number of literary magazines and won many awards. I draw much courage and strength from nature, walking my border collie, feeding the birds, irrigating the orchard, watching things grow. My first love is water. I have written in myriad forms about that mysterious substance and spent many hours photographing water patterns in the Rio Hondo and the Rio Grande. Because, as we say around here, "Agua es vida," water is life.
