David Stephenson

I am a retired engineer and a poet. In engineering, I was a technical expert on metal cutting and machine tools, and worked for most of my career in the automotive business, in machining R&D and production engineering. I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and my Ph. D. form the University of Wisconsin. I retired from full time engineering work in 2022. I started writing poetry as a teenager, out of an interest in music and song lyrics, and never stopped. My poems have appeared widely in literary magazines since the late 1980’s, and I’ve published two collections. I am also the editor of Pulsebeat Poetry Journal (Pulsebeatpoetry.com). I live in Detroit with my wife, the chemist Maria Clelia Milletti.
