Suzanne Mettler

Suzanne Mettler is the John L. Senior Professor of American Institutions in the Government Department at Cornell University. Her latest book is Rural Versus Urban: The Growing Divide That Threatens Democracy, co-authored with Trevor E. Brown. She is an award-winning author of six earlier books on American politics and public policy, with a focus on democracy, civic engagement, inequality, social welfare policy, and aid for college students. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the recipient of a Guggenheim Award and a Radcliffe Institute Fellowship.
