I call myself a Spy for Hope. I am a consultant who is passionate about creative facilitation, young people, racial justice, and spiritual practices that support activism in the world. I live in Central Virginia, where I raised two daughters, grow my own leafy green veggies, and volunteer with neighbors to sustain a Children's Defense Fund Freedom School (www.welcometothelistening.org / www.childrensdefense.org)

My most recent book -- Another Way: Living and Leading Change on Purpose -- is co-authored by my colleagues Stephen Lewis and Matthew Wesley Williams at the Forum for Theological Exploration. It's been a distinct privilege, over the past dozen years, to witness and participate with them in experimental ways of retrieving and re-imagining spiritual practices to awaken the collective imagination of people creating a better future. Faith communities can still be agents of social change! We can together resist oppressive structures, while focusing on building better ones -- ones designed for all humans (not just people who look like me, the descendants of colonizers and other European-lineage, voluntary immigrants).
