Gregory Long is president emeritus of the New York Botanical Garden, where he served as president and CEO from 1989 to 2018. Before his tenure at NYBG, he spent twenty years in senior management at five major New York City cultural institutions. Long has received many honors in recognition of his leadership, including honorary doctorates from Fordham University and the City University of New York, honorary membership in the American Society of Landscape Architects where he was awarded the LaGasse Medal, the New York Audubon Society's Thomas W. Keesee, Jr. Conservation Award, and a Medal of Honor from the Garden Club of America. He is the author of Historic Houses of the Hudson River Valley (2004), and Rescue and Revival - New York Botanical Garden 1989-2018 (2022) and has served as editor for many NYBG publications.
