Greg Dawes

I am Distinguished Professor of Latin American literature and Culture at North Carolina State University, where I teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels on Latin American literature and culture. I have been a visiting professor at the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill and at the Universidad de Chile as well. My research focuses on the connections between literature, ideology, politics and history in Latin America and is buttressed by close readings of the texts. Born in New Jersey, I spent the formative years of my childhood in Córdoba, Argentina and spent time in Spain, Nicaragua, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, and Chile.
