Elana Levine is Professor of Media, Cinema, and Digital Studies in the Department of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Her undergraduate degree in English and Telecommunications is from Indiana University and her graduate degrees in Media and Cultural Studies are from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She writes about U.S. television history, gender, sexuality, and media, and feminized popular culture. She lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her husband, Michael Z. Newman, and two sons.
