Dianna Shandy

Dianna Shandy is Professor of Anthropology and Provost at Kenyon College and Professor Emerita of Anthropology at Macalester College. An award-winning teacher and scholar, she has spent her career exploring culture, identity, migration, and the ways people make meaning in their lives and communities. Shandy spent more than two decades teaching anthropology at Macalester, where she also held a variety of academic leadership roles. Across her career, her work has encompassed teaching, scholarship, and efforts to strengthen liberal arts education.Through her writing, Shandy brings an anthropologist’s curiosity, keen observation, and deep appreciation for human stories to a wider audience.
