Mark Hines

Welcome,

I am an academic, researcher, writer and adventurer. I live in the Cotswolds and work as a senior lecturer in exercise physiology at Oxford Brookes University. My research interests focus on biomechanics, exercise physiology and sports nutrition.

My first book was published by Bloomsbury in 2007, since when I've written extensively about ultra-endurance races and expeditions in some of the world's harshest environments. I also write about health, fitness and nutrition, building upon my career as a physiology and nutrition lecturer, and science researcher.

In addition to my own writing, I support fellow authors through editing, mentoring and helping them bring their books to publication.

I really appreciate all the support and positive reviews I receive. I am grateful for for the nudges to get new books finished. I enjoy the storytelling, and the postiive feedback and encouragement help me to acknowledge it's all worthwhile.
