Dan Gilmore

Dan's story Okies won the Raymond Carver fiction contest.

His story "Happiest Black White Man in the World" was chosen by Robert Olen Butler to be included in 2015 Best Short Fictions. (Queen's Fairy Press) The same story was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by Sharing House Journal.

His haibun (prose and haiku) story "Just Before Sleep" has been nominated for the 2016 Best Short Fictions.

His story "Prayers" was an alternative selection for Best Short Fictions, 2017.

Other credits include a novel, "A Howl for Mayflower" and four collections of poetry, "Season Tickets" (Pima Press),"Love Takes a Bow" (Imago Press) "Panning for Gold" (Imago Press), and a chapbook of haibun, "Just Before Sleep" (Kyso-flash), and a full length book of haibun called "New Shoes" (Kyso Press).

In addition to the Raymond Carver Fiction Contest, Dan has placed in the Martindale Fiction Award, and won three first place awards for short stories in "Sandscript."

Many of his poems have appeared in Atlanta Review, San Diego Reader, Aethlon, Blue Collar Review, The Carolina Review, Sandscript, Poetry Nook, Sharing House Journal, Kyso-flash, and Loft and Range.
