Michel Marcellot

Michel Marcellot is an plantsman/landscape designer who, with his wife Judy, began The Peace Gardens at Seven Arrows (then called 7 Arrows Herb Farm) in 1980. Their intent was, and continues to be, to create a public garden, a Peace Garden, which is always open for strolling through, sitting, relaxing, contemplation. As plant propagators and collectors they operate a Rare and Unusual Plant Nursery which continues to make available newly collected and cultivated plant species to the gardening public. Michel's greatest delight is sourcing new botanical offerings from all over the world and connecting with others who do so.

He has studied at the Universite of Grenoble, France; Skidmore College; and the RI School of Design.

Michel has given hundreds of lectures, workshops and classes on a wide range of horticultural and landscape design related topics. Pictures of his designs have appeared in books, magazines, newspapers and TV and have won both local and national awards.

In 2007, his first book, Sacred Gardens, written with wife Judy was released. In it the authors interviewed a Nobel Prize nominee, experts in sacred sites around the globe, and ordinary gardeners to determine common threads that can be reproduced and imitated by the average gardener in their own backyards.

Each year thousands of visitors from all over the U.S. visit the Peace Gardens at Seven Arrows.
