Joyce B. Lohse

Colorado author Joyce B. Lohse combines journalism background with western history research to write historical biographies for readers of all ages. She is former administrator for Women Writing the West, and has written history articles for magazines such as True West, Steamboat, Colorado Central, and Women Out West. Her books received awards presented by Colorado Independent Publishers Associations, Colorado Authors' League, and Women Writing the West. She has been included in four Pikes Peak Library District History Symposia and their published compilations. In 2008, she accepted induction into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame for her historical nomination, Eliza Routt. Joyce Lohse can often be found lurking in archives and cemeteries in search of stories about Colorado's colorful past.
