Mike Hamel

I grew up in Denver, and instead of going to college, I got involved with a group of nondenominational churches. For the next fifteen years, I served churches in Colorado, Oregon, and Illinois. In 1990, I joined Interest Ministries and eventually became the editor of INTEREST magazine.

In 1996, I moved back to Colorado Springs and started my career as a freelance writer. Since then, I’ve written everything from blog posts and web pages to magazine articles and anthologies, to children’s books and academic textbooks. To date, I’ve authored or substantially edited over forty books on topics as wide-ranging as business, finance, theology, political theory, juvenile fiction, healthcare, cancer, and nonprofits.

I’ve done three anthologies on entrepreneurship. For these and subsequent books, I interviewed over 100 entrepreneurs and leaders. I went on to write several books on economics and social theory. One of the most intriguing leaders and social thinkers I’ve encountered along the way is John Deming. We hope that our book and website will stimulate a deeper interest in the science of volition.
