Biography - Jon S. Robbins

Jon S. Robbins began his professional career as a working actor in Los Angeles, appearing in television and films as well as many professional plays with notable theatre groups such as the Celebration Theatre, Theater La Mama and the California Shakespeare Company. He was most recently featured in the film, Eden, starring Beau Bridges and Jamie Chung.

Jon's professional writing career began in 1993 as the Features Editor for the Los Angeles based Frontiers Newsmagazine. During the next four years Jon won three national awards for his investigative reporting and his syndicated column, The Half-Naked Truth. Later, he joined Roger Corman and Horizon films as a scriptwriter while becoming a frequent contributor to The Advocate and The Christopher Street Magazine. He is also the author of the 2019 book, The Actor's Survival Guide: How to Make Your Way in Hollywood, published by Bloomsbury Intl. Publishing Group on their Methuen Drama imprint. Since 1986 Jon has worked in education teaching acting, directing, theatre history and arts management as an adjunct professor at both South Puget Sound Community College and The Evergreen State College. Later, as Evergreen's s Performing and Media Arts Manager, Jon produced over 200 events including the Evergreen Expressions guest artist program. Currently he serves as Administrator for the Urvasi Dance Ensemble in Seattle.
