Frank X. Walker

Kentucky poet Frank X Walker coined the word "Affrilachia" to make visible the black experience in the Appalachian South. His awards include an NAACP Image Award, Lannan Literary Fellowship for Poetry, and the Lillian Smith Book Award. He is Professor of English at the University of Kentucky.
