Dr. Marx is Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Professor of Public Health at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He serves on the board of directors - and chairs the Scientific Advisory Committee - of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS). Comprised of surgeons from over 70 countries worldwide, ISAKOS develops, supports and promotes charitable, scientific and literary works regarding arthroscopy, knee surgery and orthopedic sports medicine.
He has written chapters on shoulder and knee surgery, a textbook, has published over 100 peer reviewed articles and has received scores of peer reviewed research grants. He has a bachelor of science (BSc) in Biology from the Université de Montréal, his masters of science (MSc) in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto and his medical degree (MD) from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is also certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. Athletes who fear the reality of never getting back on the field put their trust in him. Having treated thousands of knee and shoulder injuries, Dr. Marx has extensive experience with complex and revision surgical cases, including reconstruction of the ACL and multiligament knee reconstruction following knee dislocations.
