Scott Moeller is the director and founder of the M&A Research Centre at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass Business School) at City, University of London, where he also Professor in the Practice of Finance. His newest book, written together with Michel Driessen and Anna Faelten, is 'The Deal Paradox, Mergers and Acquisitions Success in the Age of Digital Transformation' (Kogan Page, 2023). Scott's previous books include 'Surviving M&A: Making the Most of Your Company Being Acquired' (John Wiley, 2009), the award-winning 'Intelligent M&A: Navigating the Mergers and Acquisitions Minefield', now in its second edition written with Chris Brady (John Wiley, 2014), and 'Why Deals Fail (and how they can be rescued)' (The Economist Book Series / Profile Books, 2016), also written with Michel and Anna. Prior to teaching, Scott was at Deutsche Bank in London for 6 years in several senior banking positions. Prior to that, Scott worked first at Booz Allen & Hamilton management consultants for over 5 years and then at Morgan Stanley for over 12 years in New York, Japan, and then as co-manager and later member of the board of Morgan Stanley Bank AG in Germany. He is a graduate of Yale College (BA), the Yale Graduate School (MA) and the Yale Management School (MBA), and lives with his family in London.
