John A. Staunton, PhD, EdS, is Professor of English education and American literature and Affiliate Faculty in Women's and Gender Studies at Eastern Michigan University. He is the 2017 recipient of the Ronald W. Collins Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching at EMU and was the institutional winner for the 2020 MAC Outstanding Faculty Award for Student Success. His scholarship focuses on issues of equity, access, and representation in literature pedagogy, American women writers, and place-based approaches to English Education. He is a founding Board Member of the Kate Chopin International Society.
