Karen Hammerness

Karen Hammerness is the Director of Educational Research and Evaluation at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Her research focuses upon teachers' visions, and their role in teachers' careers and classroom practices; and in teacher learning, development and preparation. She also studies the contexts for teaching in international settings and is currently running a research project that is examining how teachers are prepared in six different countries (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Cuba, Chile and the US).
