Timothy A. Cavell

Welcome to my bio page. My name is Tim Cavell and I"m a practicing child/family psychologist and professor in the Department of Psychological Science at the University of Arkansas. I study how parents, teachers, and mentors can help children who are either defiant and aggressive or chronically bullied at school. I've authored over a hundred journal articles and chapters and have published 4 books. I've been fortunate that my research has been funded by the Department of Education, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, and the Department of Defense. I'm a member of the Research Advisory Council for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and I'm on the Board of Educational Affairs for the American Psychological Association. I'm also President-Elect of the Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. My wife, Lauri, and I have 3 children, including a daughter who is also a practicing psychologist!
