Marek Haltof

Marek Haltof is Professor at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. His books include "Polish Cinema: A History" (2019), "Screening Auschwitz: Wanda Jakubowska's The Last Stage and the Politics of Commemoration" (2018), the "Historical Dictionary of Polish Cinema. Second Edition" (2015), "Polish Film and the Holocaust: Politics and Memory" (2012), "Australian Cinema: The Screen Construction of Australia" (in Polish, 2005), "The Cinema of Krzysztof Kieślowski: Variations on Destiny and Chance" (2004), and "Polish National Cinema" (2002). In 2003, he co-edited "The New Polish Cinema." His earlier books include "Peter Weir: When Cultures Collide" (1996), "Australian Cinema: On the Screen Construction of Australia" (in Polish, 2005), and "Authorship and Art Cinema: The Case of Paul Cox" (in Polish, 2001). He is also the author of three other books published in Poland; two short novels, "Max is Great" (1988) and "Duo Nowak" (1996), and a collection of essays on American genre cinema, "The Cinema of Fears" (1992).
