Samantha Baskind

Samantha Baskind is Distinguished Professor of Art History at Cleveland State University. She is the author or editor of seven books, most recently Moses Jacob Ezekiel: Jewish, Confederate, Expatriate Sculptor. She is also the author of Raphael Soyer and the Search for Modern Jewish Art (2004), Encyclopedia of Jewish American Artists (2007), Jewish Art: A Modern History (2011), Jewish Artists and the Bible in Twentieth-Century America (2014), and The Warsaw Ghetto in American Art and Culture (2018). The Jewish Graphic Novel: Critical Approaches, co-edited with Ranen Omer-Sherman, appeared in 2008. She served as editor for U.S. art for the 22-volume revised edition of the Encyclopaedia Judaica (2006) and is currently editor of Penn State University Press's book series: "Dimyonot: Jews and the Cultural Imagination."
