Tim Hauserman

Tim Hauserman's Tahoe Rim Trail, the official guide for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians was just published in a fourth edition, with major updates to the previous edition. The first edition was Wilderness Press' #1 seller in 2003. Hauserman has thru-hiked the TRT three times, and became just the 11th member of the Tahoe Rim Trail 165 Mile Club in 1999. He also wrote Cross-Country Skiing in the Sierra Nevada, Monsters in the Woods: Backpacking with Children, and Gertrude's Tahoe Adventures in Time. He also contributed to Backpacking California and Tahoe Blues. He writes frequently for a variety of local and regional publications on anything that strikes his fancy and won a first place award in 2012 from the Nevada Press Association for an article he wrote for Reno News and Review. Tim teaches cross-country skiing and directs the Strider-Gliders after school ski program at Tahoe Cross-Country Ski Area in Tahoe City, CA., He has led hiking trips in Death Valley, Yosemite, the California Coast and along the Tahoe Rim Trail. In addition to cross-country skiing and hiking Tim enjoys road and mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing.
