Peter B. Gray was born and raised in Colorado. While an undergraduate at UCLA in Anthropology and Geography, he spent semesters abroad in Kenya and Costa Rica, whetting his appetite for an understanding of ourselves in evolutionary and cross-cultural perspective. He earned his graduate degrees (AM, PhD) in Biological Anthropology at Harvard. Further steeped in the value of an evolutionary perspective, he was trained in comparative primate behavior, behavioral and reproductive endocrinology, and other areas, also spending two years as a postdoctoral scholar in Clinical Endocrinology, working with Dr. Shalender Bhasin. He currently serves on the Anthropology faculty at UNLV, where he practices firsthand life as a father, regularly visits casinos when family and friends are in town, and enjoys jogs among creosote bushes.
