Kees M. Paling

Kees M. Paling (1954) is a writer of several books in the Dutch language:

- De Wereld als Halve Waarheid (The World as Half-Truth), 1990;

- Galgemaal voor Pruisen (The Fall of Prussia and the life of Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck, general, guerrillero and putchist), 1995;

- Het Fin-de-Siecle als uitdaging (The Fin-de-Siecle as a challenge; culture on the eve of the New Millennium), 1996;

- Meneer Van Dale en de Apocalyps (Mr. Van Dale and the Apocalypse; The End of the World in 80 days), 1999;

- Als je kind een leerprobleem heeft (when your child has a learning problem), 2004;

- Canongebulder (Cannon Roar; what everyone should know about Dutch Military History), 2006;

- Operatie Tango (Operation Tango; the Orange Coup on Veteran's Day), 2007.

His 8th book – ‘A Rumour of Adventure’ - was published in English in December 2018.

He contributed to several books on communication, the millennium and what if-history and was co-editor of 'The European Challenge'.

Furthermore he wrote about 1.001 articles in daily newspapers and weekly magazines about many different subjects.

He was educated as a sociologist at Utrecht University and fulfilled his military service as a lieutenant/student counsellor at the Dutch Royal Military Academy. He worked for 10 years at the Ministry of Culture and another 10 years at the Netherlands Institute for Social Research. Since the beginning of the new Millennium he works as a communication consultant for the Dutch Government and since the Summer of 2019 he is again a writer, a journalist and a coach.
