Allyson Fiddler is Professor of German and Austrian Studies at Lancaster University. She was born in Singapore, grew up in Scotland, Germany, and Wales and has spent study years in France and in Austria. Allyson has taught at the universities of Swansea, Nottingham and Lancaster. She lives near the Lake District with her family and her four-legged research assistant, Lottie (a fox-red labrador).
