B. J. Oropeza

B. J. Oropeza (Ph.D., Durham University, England) is Professor of Biblical and Religious Studies at Azusa Pacific University. His many publications include the subjects of Pauline studies and theology, Intertextuality, perspectives on Paul, Corinthian epistles, socio-rhetorical criticism, and a 3-volume study on Apostasy in the New Testament Communities. He started the Intertextuality in the New Testament sessions and currently co-chairs the Scripture and Paul seminar at the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL), is a member of the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas (Society of New Testament Studies – SNTS), and an editorial member for the Rhetoric of Religious Antiquity (RRA). Oropeza's current interests include Paul's letter to the Romans, Pauline Theology including new and post-new perspectives on Paul, and Intertextual biblical interpretation.
