Steven Moore

Steven Moore was born outside Los Angeles in 1951. He earned a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado (1973-74), and later a PhD from Rutgers University (1988). From 1988 until 1996 he was Managing Editor of the Dalkey Archive Press/Review of Contemporary Fiction, and at various times has worked as a bookseller and a freelance editor/indexer. Moore is the author/editor of several books and essays on modern literature, especially on William Gaddis, as well as the two-volume survey "The Novel: An Alternative History." For decades he has reviewed new books for a variety of periodicals, primarily for the "Washington Post." He lives alone in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
