Jim Sharp

Jim Sharp was born on the family farm near White City Ks. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944 and took combat infantry training at Ft. McCellan Al. He joined Co. B, 18th Reg't, 1st Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge. He earned numerous battlefield decorations including the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, 3 battle stars for Battle of the Bulge, Remagen Bridge and Rhineland. He was wounded in the battle for Uslar, Germany.

Following the end of hostilities he was selected as a Sgt. of the Guard at the Four Power International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, Germany.

Jim Sharp is the author of other books including, "Black Settlers on the Kaw Indian Reservation" and "Sgt. of the Guard at Nuremberg"

He is a graduate of Kansas State University with a BS in Business Administration. He was an adjunct instructor in the KSU College of Business and retired from Kansas Farm Bureau as Manager of Information Systems. Following retirement he started his own consulting service specializing in Business Systems Consulting. He married the former Marilyn Mitchell of Parkerville, KS and they have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
