Eileen Cameron

Eileen Cameron is a noted children's author. Books include CANYON, story in poetic text of forces of nature creating canyons. CANYON - a Book of the Year- non-fiction, Bank Street College, New York. G IS FOR THE GARDEN STATE, the Book of the Year, the NJ Center for the Book, Affiliate of Library of Congress, and a selection of the NJ 350 th Anniversary Official Committee as One of the 101 Books of NJ.

Eileen is an experienced historical preservationist having served on numerous boards including George Washington's Mount Vernon Life Guard Board. She is currently a trustee of the Washington Association of NJ, one of the oldest preservationist groups in the US.

Eileen earned a BA in Government at Skidmore College where she began her great interest in historical documents including the Magna Carta and other documents influencing the founding of the United States and the establishment of liberty. She earned an MPA at NYU and studied writing at numerous institutions including the New School, New York.

Eileen's newest book, RUPERT'S PARCHMENT, STORY OF MAGNA CARTA, tells the story of the historic sealing of Magna Carta in June 1215, at Runnymede meadow, when English liberties were re- secured for English free men and eventually influenced the Founding Fathers of the US and became American freedoms as well. The historical picture for children gives Rupert, son of a local parchment maker, a ring side seat at the great event.
