John Hermann

John Hermann bought his first bike in 1960. He's had 18 BMWs. In 2006, he received a trophy from BMW of North America, recognizing his more than one million miles of riding BMWs. About one third of those million miles have been in Europe, mostly in the Alps. Most of these years, he rode twice a year, every nook and cranny of the Alps as well as exploring other roads in Europe. He has authored five books on motorcycling, focusing on the Alps. Each of the books has been about "your trip, not John Hermann's trip", that is, the book should be used to plan a trip - by motorcyle or by car -- in the Alps and environs. John lives in Coronado, California, where he was a founding member of the San Diego BMW Owners Club.
