Derek Keilty

Derek has published fifteen books for children. His newest book, Ivy Newt and the Time Thief, illustrated by Magda Brol, was published by Scallywag Press in September 2023. The first book Ivy Newt and the Storm Witch was published April 2023 and was a LoveReading4Kids pick of the month. He has also published the Flyntlock Bones series and Flyntlock Bones: The Sceptre of the Pharaohs was a Times ‘best summer read’, and four Will Gallows books, the first of which was a Richard & Judy Book club pick, and shortlisted for the Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year 2012.

Derek lives in Northern Ireland and is married to Elaine, who is Canadian, and has twin girls, Sarah-Jane and Rebekah, not forgetting Duke the Bichon Frise.
