Andrew Scott

Andrew Scott is an author, journalist and editor living in Sechelt, just northwest of Vancouver, BC. His latest book is an expanded second edition of The Promise of Paradise: Utopian Communities in British Columbia, published by Harbour in 2017. His previous book, The Encyclopedia of Raincoast Place Names: A Complete Reference to Coastal British Columbia (Harbour, 2009), was awarded the Roderick Haig-Brown BC Book Prize and the Lieutenant Governor's Medal for Historical Writing. Andrew has also written (or co-written) four other books, as well as about 1,000 articles, receiving a National Magazine Gold Award and four Western Magazine Awards along the way. He is a former editor-in-chief of Western Living magazine, senior editor for the The Globe and Mail's city magazine network and publisher of Alaska Airlines Magazine.
