Emanuel Xavier

Emanuel Xavier is an award-recognized poet and author known for his work in contemporary poetry, spoken word, and LGBTQ+ literature. He is the author of the poetry collections Still, We Are Sacred, Love(ly) Child, Pier Queen, Americano, If Jesus Were Gay, Nefarious, Radiance, and Selected Poems of Emanuel Xavier.

A New York City–based writer, Xavier has received a New York City Council Citation and a Gay City Impact Award for his contributions to arts and culture. His work has been recognized as a finalist for the International Latino Book Awards and the Lambda Literary Awards. His poetry has appeared in Latino Poetry: The Library of America Anthology, Poetry, A Gathering of the Tribes, and Hanging Loose.
