Clarise Samuels

Clarise Samuels is originally from Rahway, New Jersey and now resides in Hudson, Quebec. She has published poetry, book reviews, and short stories. Her novel, Loving Brynhild, was serialized in the British journal, Goddess Pages, and is now available as an ebook at Smashwords and Barnes & Noble.

Clarise has also published a volume of poetry, Fairy Tales for the Bourgeoisie (presently out of print). And her scholarly study of the Holocaust poetry of Paul Celan, based on her doctoral dissertation, is housed at major university and public libraries, including the National Library of Israel and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

Clarise received her PhD in German Literature from Rutgers University in 1990. She is also a visual artist and is presently a student of the Lingnan School of Painting, which is a school of art founded in China. (Her art portfolio is at clarise.crevado.com.)
