Mark Richards

I have been writing and illustrating walking guides since his first book was published in 1973 to The Cotswold Way. That guide was created with the direct encouragement of my mentor Alfred Wainwright, with whom I walked for several years in the 1970s. Now 47 years later, after creating various guides to the North Cornwall Coastal Footpath, Offa's Dyke Path, a Peak District trio and Hadrian's Wall Path, I am nearing the completion of the eight volume 'Fellranger' series "Walking the Lake District Fells - All the Fells, All the Routes". Also with Cicerone I wrote "Great Mountain Days in the Lake District" a perennially popular reference. Every fortnight I present a hugely popular outdoor podcast called www.countrystride.co.uk dedicated to Cumbria and the Lake District.
