Alex Wilmerding

Alex Wilmerding is a Principal at Pantheon Ventures, where he

evaluates investment opportunities and monitors investments in Asia,

focusing on infrastructure, venture, growth and buyouts. He has served on

the Pantheon Global Co-investment Committee, as a member of the Asia

Investment Committee and on Advisory Boards and Committees of private

equity funds across Asia. Alex also manages business development and client

services in the Asian region for Pantheon. He is based in Hong Kong. Prior

to joining Pantheon, Alex was a Director at Citi Private Bank with a focus

working with financial sponsors including private equity and venture funds.

He previously spent nine years as a partner at Boston Capital Ventures

where he sourced, structured and managed investments in the areas of

business process outsourcing and distribution, as well as the areas of

information technology, hospitality and transportation services. At Boston

Capital Ventures, he served as a director on the boards of portfolio

companies including HUBX, Inc., aWaltham, Massachusetts based revenue

management and distribution services solutions provider to the hospitality

industry, which was sold to Sabre, after merging with SynXis Corporation;

KhiMetrics, Inc., a Scottsdale, AZ based developer of revenue management

solutions sold to SAP; FareChase, Inc., a web-based travel solutions

company sold to Yahoo!; and Wandrian, Inc., a rail inventory distribution

services company. Wilmerding also served as an observer to the boards of

Exa Corporation, EXA (NASDAQ), the now public, Bedford, MA based

developer of fluid flow simulation software for wind tunnel applications,

and Vectrix Corporation, the New Bedford, MA based advanced

transportation solutions provider. In the not-for-profit arena, Wilmerding

has served as an Officer and Trustee of the Yale-China Association, an

organization based in New Haven, CT which facilitates educational,

environmental, legal and medical exchanges between the United States and

China. Prior to Boston working for Boston Capital Ventures, he served as

Commercial Manager Eastern China for the Fednav Group, as well as in

executive management positions for Cathay Pacific Airways and Dragonair

in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Jakarta. Wilmerding earned his B.A. in

history from Yale University and his M.B.A. in Finance and Organizational

Management from the Columbia Business School. Questions or comments
