JoAnn Locktov

In 2014 JoAnn Locktov created Bella Figura Publications, a new imprint dedicated to publishing books on contemporary Venice. How does one demonstrate love for a city? For JoAnn, it is by celebrating the design, art, architecture, culture, and artisans of Venice. Through her 1,500 years of existence Venice has challenged the notion of what a city can be and yet there is no ambiguity about the fierce emotional connection she inspires.

Beyond publishing her Dream of Venice series of books JoAnn Locktov is a dynamic resource on the subject of Venice. Her views on Venice, both political and cultural, have been featured in podcasts, interviews, and articles.

Prior to publishing, JoAnn wrote two books on contemporary mosaics for Rockport. Her work as an international publicist in design and architecture has brought her to Italy annually for last decade. In November, you will always find her in Venice, getting lost in the fog.
