Tim Kochis, JD, MBA, CFP®
Tim has 42 years of experience in financial planning and investments in the US and overseas, at firms he founded and before that in leading these practice areas for Deloitte and for Bank of America. Tim has chaired every professional organization in his field and has received every achievement award his profession confers. He’s especially proud of UC Berkeley, where he taught evening courses for 18 years, having created an award for teaching excellence in his name.
Tim serves on the Board of the Schwab mutual funds and ETF’s complex and on several non-profit boards, including the Asian Art Museum and the University of San Francisco.
He has written several books, including three completed in 2015: Success and Succession, Managing Concentrated Stock Wealth, 2nd. Edition, and Financial Planning for China’s New Elite. Tim is a veteran, having received a Purple Heart during service in the US Army in Vietnam.
He lives in San Francisco and Santa Barbara with his wife of many years, Penelope Wong.
