Alan Kaiser

Alan Kaiser is a Professor of Archaeology and Chair of the Department of Archaeology at the University of Evansville. He has participated in archaeological projects in Spain, Greece, Italy, England, Israel, the United States, and on St. Kitts and Nevis. He is best known for his work applying Geographic Information Systems computer technology to answering questions about Roman urbanism. In addition, Kaiser’s book Archaeology, Sexism, and Scandal, an account of archaeologist David Robinson’s plagiarism of the work of his graduate student, Mary Ellingson, led the United States Library of Congress to rewrite their entry of Robinson’s publications, adding Ellingson as the author of one work and a contributor to another.
